I’m Jas — a home baker based in Carlisle, Cumbria. I bake bespoke cakes and custom sweet treats for every occasion (or simply when you fancy something delicious!) and often take part in local trade events and charity fundraisers. Whether you’re after the perfect celebration cake, a box of cupcakes, or some classic brownies, you’re in the right place.
Originally from a small seaside town near the Lake District, I grew up baking with my mum and nanny. Baking has always been a part of my life — from making homemade Cornish pasties in the kitchen with Mum, to chocolate logs and pizzas with Dad, and of course, Nanny’s famous rock buns.
The name Oh Crumbs comes from a childhood book my Nanny used to read to my siblings and me — Benjamin Bounces Back. In it, a little mouse sets off on an adventure to get his glasses fixed, and there’s a line that’s always stuck with me: “Crumbs, the end of the road!” It felt like the perfect name for something that started from those same childhood memories and a love of baking.
